Takatsukasa Nobuhisa (鷹司信尚)

Nobuhisa TAKATSUKASA (May 17, 1590 - December 31, 1621) was a Kugyo (high court noble) during the Edo period. His father was Nobufusa TAKATSUKASA. His mother was Teruko SASA, the second wife of his father. He had a brother, Nobuhira TAKATSUKASA; a sister, Takako TAKATSUKASA; a son, Norihira TAKATSUKASA; and a daughter, the legal wife of Sadayoshi KAZANIN. The third daughter of Emperor Goyoze, Princess Sugako, was his wife. He was Juichii (Junior First Rank). His other name was Keikokuin.

Brief Personal History

He was born to Nobufusa TAKATSUKASA in 1590. He served as the Naidaijin (the Minister of the Interior) from 1611 to 1612, the Udaijin (the Minister of the Right) from 1612 to 1614, the Kanpaku (chief adviser to the Emperor) from 1612 to 1615, and the Sadaijin (the Minister of the Left) from 1614 to 1620. He was promoted to Juichii on February 13, 1614. He passed away in 1621.
